  1. Thank you Milena. Beautiful images and quite the worldly tour. One odd thought arrives – why do we put so much into buildings and so much less into our own lives. Wouldn’t we be the better living cathedrals?

    1. It’s a brilliant question Neil, architecture is a loud statement of taste and opulence I guess. Will beauty save the world? Yet what will save us?

Those buildings make history which stays for the coming generations, people come and go, God gives and He takes away. Living cathedrals are fascinating yet short lived, it’s not necessary a bad thing, who wants to live forever?

      1. Yeah, I think you learn a lot about a culture that way. When I was in Ethiopia, I mostly visited churches and it was so fun. We learnt so much about their beliefs and traditions.

  2. Did you visit all of these? The only one I’ve visited is the one in Santa Fe – We were there last April. I’m sure your photo is of the one with the mysterious spiral staircase, correct?
